I didn’t start this work because I read a book about burnout.

I started it because I lived the consequences of ignoring the warning signs.

From the outside, my life looked successful.
Physician. Caregiver. High-functioning. Reliable. The one who could hold it all.

But internally, I was leaking energy everywhere.

Not dramatically, just quietly and gradually. Respectably even. 

And that is the most dangerous kind of erosion.

Because when you stay on that path long enough, the cost isn’t just “feeling tired.”

It becomes something much deeper.

Financially, you start paying for exhaustion in invisible ways

—missed opportunities, stress spending, under-valuing your work, postponing investments in your future because you’re just trying to get through the week.

Emotionally, you go into what I now call emotional bankruptcy

—more reactive, more resentful, more numb, while still showing up and performing at a high level.

And slowly… life itself begins to erode.

The magic of ordinary moments dulls. Joy gets postponed. Experiences that make life meaningful get pushed to “later.”

Here’s the part that breaks my heart the most.  If nothing changes, 6 to 12 months from now, you are not just more tired.
You are more disconnected. I see it in so many high-achieving women and caregivers. 

You become disconnected from yourself, from the people you love, and from the purpose that once lit you up.  

 

And the most devastating consequence?

You reach a point where you’ve given so much to your role that you genuinely forget who you are outside of it.

 

That is the disaster I feel called to prevent. My mission is not to tell people to quit their jobs, abandon caregiving, or blow up their lives.

 

My mission is to protect the person inside the role.

 

Because the truth is:

There is another path.

A way to rewrite the internal script that turns kindness into depletion.


A way to care deeply without being consumed.

To become a steady anchor instead of the exhausted martyr
