What if you’re not burned out because you’re weak—but because you’ve been too strong, for too long?
May 26, 2025
What if you’re not lazy?
What if you’re not disorganized or broken or doing it all wrong?
What if you’re just overloaded?
Most of the people I work with are not struggling because they’re weak. They’re struggling because they’ve been strong for too long without rest, without acknowledgment, without enough support.
They’re managing the inbox and the messages and the forms and the meals and the caregiving and the weight of knowing. Knowing what should be different, knowing what people need, knowing how little room there is to give it.
Burnout doesn’t show up as fire.
It shows up as fog.
You can’t think straight. You forget what mattered. You say “I’m fine” while wondering why everything feels so heavy.
Here’s the truth:
You are not the problem.
You’re responding appropriately to a world that keeps asking too much.
That’s not an excuse, it’s an invitation.
To rest.
To reflect.
To come back to yourself.
You don’t need to be more productive.
You need to be more honest—and more tender with the parts of you that are trying so hard to keep going.
You’re not lazy.
You’re carrying too much, too quietly, for too long.
Let today be a day you put one thing down.
💛
