5-Minute Grounding Practice for Clinicians Carrying Grief

You're carrying the weight of cumulative loss, moral injury, and outcomes you were never meant to control. This guided meditation won't fix that, but it will help you hold it without letting it define you.

Send me the meditation

If you're here, you're probably

  • Replaying conversations at 3am, wondering if you missed something
  • Crying in the car before your shift
  • Feeling the weight of every patient who didn't make it — but no one talks about it
  • Exhausted by a system that expects you to move on like the last loss didn't break you

You're carrying grief the world refuses to acknowledge.

This 5-minute guided meditation is for clinicians who:

  • Think they "can't meditate" or don't have time
  • Are skeptical of anything that sounds woo-woo
  • Just want 5 minutes of relief from the heaviness

You don't need to fix anything. You don't need to be "good at this." You just need to listen and follow.

Who this is for:

This meditation is for physicians and nurses in high-mortality specialties — hospice, palliative care, ICU, ER, oncology — who are carrying cumulative grief and don't have the language or space to process it.

If you're tired of being told to "just decompress" or "set better boundaries" when the real problem is the weight of loss you're carrying, this is for you.

Who I am:

I'm Dr. Emma Jones, a palliative care and hospice MD who has sat with death daily for 20 years. I'm also a certified yoga teacher and the founder of Self Trust School,  a monthly membership where burned-out women clinicians practice non-attachment through yoga, meditation, and coaching.

I made this meditation because I know what it's like to carry grief the world doesn't acknowledge. And I know that 5 minutes of grounding can be the difference between surviving your shift and actually being present in your life.

What you'll get:

  • A 5-minute guided meditation you can do in your car, the break room, or at home
  • A simple breathing practice that grounds you in the present moment
  • Permission to hold your grief without letting it carry you
